Bio-ID Verification
Biometric Identification of People
Identification cards for the identification market that require the true identity of the individual who holds the card are a necessity in today's society. Veritec hardware and software used to encode and decode an ID card is USER FRIENDLY with HIGH DATA DENSITY and it is also LOW COST.
There are two steps involved to create and to read Veritec's ID Card with the VSCode®:
Step ONE - The Enrollment Process
Name, address, and desired personal data such as social security number, date of birth, credit card numbers, medical information, etc., are entered into a computer equipped with Veritec's software. A camera takes a picture (or the computer pulls up the picture if it is already stored in a database). A signature pad is used to register a signature if one is required on the card. A fingerprint scanner scans the person's fingerprint. This completes the enrolling process. Veritec encoding software then converts the information into binary form and a VSCode® is created. An ID card is then printed containing the VSCode® symbol which, in turn, contains all of the information gathered in the enrolling process. The code is visible but the information is not in a human readable form until the code is read with a scanner.

Step Two - The Validation Process
This is the second step to decode or to read the information within the VeriCode® and VSCode®. To read a "soft" or "hard" ID card with VSCode®, you need a computer, a Veritec FCR-100 (fingerprint card reader), and Veritec's decoding software using a CCD camera with a fingerprint sensor and lighting to read the ID card. The card is inserted into the card slot. The computer verifies the minutia points of the individual fingerprint that was stored inside the VSCode® against the person's live finger and an instant "verified" or "denied" result is produced.

ID Cards
Veritec makes two types of ID cards; a "soft card" and a "hard card". A soft card is low cost, durable, and very easy to produce; particularly useful if a customer wants to create an ID card on the fly and not in large volume or if cost is of primary importance. The Veritec "soft ID card" is made on paper stock with a thickness of 26-30 thousandths of an inch. The card is printed with a low cost ink jet or laser jet printer and laminated. A patent is pending on this technology. The "hard card" method uses conventional PVC card stock and requires a special hard card printer. This method is higher in cost. The technology requires expensive ribbon, and high cost printers that only can be used to print cards. With the Soft Card System, an ink jet or laser printer can be used for all types of printing. Hard Card System is preferable when a large volume of cards is required or card use is to be repetitive over a longer period of time.
Veritec's 2D technology using the VSCode® is most valuable in the ID card application because it provides an instant, secure, non-invasive, accurate, and low cost, one to one identification and verification. The ID card can be stolen or copied and will have no use to anyone else, only the owner with the correct fingerprint can use the card. That individual alone controls the card with his or her biometric information. There is no violation of the person's rights or privacy, because the fingerprint information stores only the minutia points within the VSCode®VSCode®. The information cannot be reversed back to an actual fingerprint. There is no worry of power outage or central database equipment breakdown, because the VSCode® has a large enough data capacity to store all the required information to serve as a portable data storage unit by itself.

Universal Multi-Purpose Bio-ID Card with Banking Options
Veritec now has a Universal Multi-Purpose Bio-ID Card called the VSCard™. It is a Debit card as well as a universal multi-purpose bio-ID card due to the VSCode® capability of providing the true identity of the cardholder. Our VSCard™ has several unique features that no other card can offer at this time:
- A color picture ID of the card owner
- A magnetic stripe for normal banking transactions that can be toggled on or off using a cell phone and our proprietary software
- A VSCode® that is a portable database to store personal and unique information only to the card owner
- Debit card functionality

Card Systems
Veritec has two types of ID-Card Systems to create the Bio-ID Card: The Soft-Card System and the Hard-Card System.
Soft-Card System:
The Soft-Card System is low cost, durable and very easy to produce. It is particularly useful if the customer wants to create an ID card on the fly and not in large volume. Cost is of primary importance with the Soft-Card System. Veritec's "Soft-Card ID" is made on regular paper stock with a thickness of 26-30 thousandths of an inch. This card is printed with a low cost ink jet or laser printer and laminated. With the Soft-Card System, a low cost ink jet or laser printer is adequate for all types of printing. A patent in pending on this technology.
Soft-Card Production Method:

Hard-Card System:
The Hard-Card System uses conventional PVC card stock and requires a special card printer. This method is higher in cost. The technology requires expensive ribbon and high cost printers that are specially designed to print this type of card. Hard-Card Systems are preferred when a large volume of cards are required or a magnetic stripe is being used for banking transactions as well as for access control applications.
Hard-Card Production Method:
